Gwyneth is a partner in the Investment Funds group and works extensively with hedge fund managers and their onshore counsel on all aspects of the establishment, maintenance and restructuring of offshore investment funds. Gwyneth represents large financial institutions and investment managers, as well as boutique and start-up managers. Her experience includes the establishment of companies, partnerships and unit trusts and advising on structuring hedge funds, private equity funds and investment fund platforms. She also has particular experience in advising funds on managing distress.
Gwyneth joined Maples and Calder in 2012. She was previously a partner at another international law firm in the Cayman Islands and has over 13 years' experience as an offshore investment funds lawyer. Gwyneth began her legal career at Herbert Smith Freehills, London where she worked in the corporate group before moving to the investments funds group of King & Wood Mallesons, Sydney. She then moved in-house to AMP Financial Services as head of the retail investment funds legal team.
Gwyneth has been recognised by The International Who's Who Legal as a leading lawyer in private funds and ranked as a notable practitioner by Chambers Global. She has also been recommended in Legal 500 and IFLR1000 and has been named as a leading practitioner by Legal Media Group's Expert Guide to the World's Leading Women in Business Law.
