Robin specialises in finance (principally Islamic finance and banking), corporate and investment funds (principally private equity funds and real estate funds). Robin regularly advises international banks on conventional and Islamic financings, on the structuring of private equity funds investing in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Africa and on general corporate and commercial matters, including corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions and joint venture arrangements.
Robin joined Maples and Calder as an articled clerk in 2003. Since qualifying in 2005, Robin has worked in Maples and Calder's Corporate, Investment Funds and Finance groups in the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong and Dubai. Robin has been named as a leading lawyer by Islamic Finance News and ranked as an 'associate to watch' by Chambers Global, where he is described as "very responsive and pleasant to deal with".
