Maples and Calder Named Offshore Law Firm of the Year
Maples and Calder once again affirmed its position as the pre-eminent offshore law firm, securing the coveted title, 'Offshore Law Firm of the Year' at the 2012 Legal Week British Legal Awards held in London on 23 November 2012.
The award, collected by London corporate partner, Jack Marriott, recognised the firm's achievements over the past 12 months. In a year that has posed significant challenges to the offshore market, Maples and Calder staved off competition from five other firms to win the prestigious award.
Global Managing Partner, Henry Smith, acknowledging the win, stated “We are delighted to accept this award, which validates the continuous hard work of everyone at Maples and Calder. This recognition is a testament to the firm's commitment to superior service and our goal to meet the high expectations of our clients.”
Speaking on the event itself, which was attended by the Who's Who of the legal industry, Jack Marriott added, “It is humbling to be recognised amongst your peers for excellent work and progress. The Legal Week Awards are well respected and it is an honour to be nominated alongside the calibre of firm with which we were classed.”
The Legal Week British Legal Awards recognise the achievements of those law firms, teams and individuals who are responding most successfully to the demands being placed on them in the new post-recession business environment. The awards are divided into individual, team and firm categories and have been carefully chosen to reflect the range of practice areas and skills that lie at the heart of the successful law firm or legal department.
