Sharon specialises in investment funds advising on the structuring, formation, launch and maintenance of funds for sponsors based in Asia ranging from boutique and start-up managers to heavy-weight players including leading global private equity investment firms, well-known institutions, investment banks, state-owned enterprises, sovereign wealth funds and some of the biggest securities houses in mainland China and Japan. Sharon also has broad experience advising on private equity downstream transactions including investment structuring, acquisition and disposal of assets, joint ventures, re-structuring, pre-IPO financing and fund financing involving a range of fund vehicles. She also regularly advises hedge fund managers and has worked on some of the most complex hedge fund products in the Asian market. Sharon's expertise has led her to be a regular speaker at funds seminars throughout Asia and to be invited to be a judge at industry awards.
Sharon joined Maples and Calder in 2008 and was elected as a partner in 2016. She previously worked for another law firm in Jersey and before that, she was an in-house lawyer for Westpac Banking Corporation having initially worked for Bell Gully in New Zealand. Sharon has been recommended in The Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal.
