Justin is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the Maples Group. Justin is based in Hong Kong. Justin has been with the Maples Group since late 2007. Justin was General Counsel for the MaplesFS Group from 2010 to 2012 and before that a litigation and insolvency lawyer in the Cayman Islands firm of Maples and Calder experienced in large scale litigation including professional negligence matters, regulatory proceedings and contractual disputes.
Justin does not provide legal services to our clients and is focussed on internal projects, legislative developments, regulatory compliance, professional standards and ethics, insurance arrangements, general risk management (in conjunction with our Chief Risk Officer), and all the usual duties of general counsel to a global organisation. Justin is also a member of our Terms of Engagement Committee, Data Protection Committee, and Crisis Management Committee.
Justin joined Maples and Calder in 2007 and was elected as a partner in 2014. He previously worked for Clayton Utz in Australia.
