Everton is a private equity and finance lawyer advising on Cayman Islands and BVI law. He has acted for major financial institutions, corporations, private equity firms, UHNWs and HNWs throughout Asia, focusing on aircraft financing, the establishment of corporate, limited partnership close ended funds, pre-IPO financings by way of preferred shares or convertible bonds and mergers and acquisitions transactions involving inbound investments in the PRC, private trusts and commercial unit trusts. Everton also has substantial experience of debt and equity capital markets transactions.
Everton first joined Maples and Calder in Hong Kong in 2000 and re-joined the firm in 2017. He was previously a partner in the Hong Kong office of another offshore law firm and prior to that, worked for Shearman & Sterling, White & Case and Linklaters in London. Everton has been recognised over the years in many legal directories and publications such as Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR1000 and Asian Legal Business.
