Freezing Orders in the Cayman Islands - Anything But Frozen

In our Summer 2011 update, we wrote about a recent decision of the Grand Court in which the Court sought to expand its jurisdiction to grant freezing orders / Mareva injunctions in support of substantive litigation elsewhere in the world.  Over recent months the Courts have continued to clarify – and to rein back – the scope of this jurisdiction.  The position remains in flux, with the question shortly to be ruled on by the Court of Appeal.
