Philip is a partner in the Investment Funds group and works closely with hedge fund managers and their onshore counsel advising on the structuring and ongoing maintenance of hedge funds. Philip also advises on the formation of private equity funds and shareholder arrangements relating to investments made by such funds. Philip has represented large financial institutions and investment managers, including well-known sponsors of private equity and hedge funds, in North America, Latin America and Asia.
Philip joined Maples and Calder in 2012 and has over 10 years' experience as an offshore investment funds lawyer. Prior to that he worked for Paul Weiss in Hong Kong specialising in investment funds, theme park and casino related investments, and general corporate transactions.
Philip has been named repeatedly by The International Who's Who Legal as a leading lawyer in private funds and recognised as a leading Cayman Islands lawyer in IFLR1000. He has also been recommended in Legal 500 and featured in Latin Lawyer 250.
