James has experience of international capital markets and corporate finance transactions, and advises on all aspects of banking, fund financing, aircraft financing and Islamic finance. James also has extensive experience of derivatives and structured finance matters including structured credit transactions (from synthetic CLOs to total return swaps), equity financing transactions (from pre-IPO financings to share backed financings) and structured commodities transactions. James has been a speaker for both ISDA and ASIFMA.
James joined the Dubai office of Maples and Calder in 2014. Prior to that, he worked with another law firm in the Cayman Islands, with Clifford Chance LLP in London and with Allen & Overy LLP in both London and Hong Kong.
