Paul Dobbyn

Paul is a senior member of the Investment Funds Group in the Dublin office and a member of the Insolvency team. He is recognised as a leader in financial services, particularly the investment funds area. Paul has been heavily involved in shaping the regulation of the industry in Ireland both at policy level and its implementation through legislation and regulation. He is seen as a legal pioneer in the development of the investment funds industry in Ireland since its inception to date. Paul has extensive experience, having advised for over two decades on many of the most complex matters in the fields of investment funds and financial services.
Professional Background
Paul joined Maples and Calder in 2010. From 2006 - 2010 he practised as a barrister at the Irish Commercial Bar. He ceased to practise as a barrister and was readmitted as a solicitor in 2010. Paul was a senior partner for more than twenty years at one of Ireland's largest domestic corporate law firms, where he headed both the investment funds and insolvency groups.
